NRA Instructor Courses Offered

Concealed Carry Classes of Denver offers NRA instructor-level training in multiple disciplines, including:

  • NRA Basic Pistol Instructor
  • NRA Basic Rifle Instructor
  • NRA Basic Shotgun Instructor
  • NRA CCW Instructor
  • NRA Personal Protection Inside the Home Instructor
  • NRA Personal Protection Outside the Home Instructor
  • NRA Home Firearms Safety Instructor
  • NRA Refuse To Be A Victim® Instructor

  • NRA Basic Instructor Training

Prerequisites

Before attending an NRA Instructor course, students must complete the required student-level course for that discipline.

Most NRA instructor courses also require NRA Basic Instructor Training, commonly called BIT.

NRA BIT must generally be completed within the required timeframe before instructor certification can be considered. If you do not have current proof of BIT or the required student-level course, you may be required to complete those courses first.

There is no “testing out” of the required training. Prior experience, military background, law enforcement background, security experience, or other firearms certifications do not automatically replace NRA course requirements.

Important Information Before Registering

Purchasing or attending an instructor course does not guarantee certification.

Instructor certification must be earned. Candidates must demonstrate:

  • Safe firearm handling
  • Marksmanship ability
  • Professionalism
  • Teaching ability
  • Proper attitude and judgment
  • Safe range conduct
  • Ability to follow the NRA instructional method

Unsafe behavior, poor attitude, failure to follow directions, or failure to meet course standards may result in dismissal or denial of certification.

Documentation Requirements

Students must provide:

  • Valid government-issued photo ID
  • Proof of U.S. citizenship, naturalized citizenship, or permanent resident status
  • Valid Colorado Concealed Handgun Permit, or a current CBI background check
  • Proof of required NRA student-level course completion
  • Proof of NRA Basic Instructor Training when required

Anyone prohibited from possessing firearms under state or federal law is not eligible to attend.
