🔫 Armed Guard Training – Denver

🔐 Denver Requirements for Armed Security Guards:

In compliance with Denver regulations, security guards who open carry a firearm must obtain a “firearm endorsement” on their Denver Security Guard License through Denver Excise & Licensing.

Our Armed Training Course is essential for:

  • New armed guard applicants
  • Renewals for existing armed guards

👉 Our program is designed for intermediate, advanced, and expert handgun users.
🚨 If you’re a beginner, we recommend taking our Basic Pistol 101 class, offered monthly.

📚 Armed Class Overview:

  • 5-Hour Classroom Session
  • 3-Hour Live Firearms Training
  • Qualification Test (Minimum pass rate: 80%)

🔁 Annual Renewal for Armed Endorsement

Denver requires yearly requalification for armed guards. This includes re-training and re-qualification on the range.

🎯 Equipment Required:

  • Full-Sized Handgun
  • 3 Magazines
  • OWB Holster (Level 1 or Higher — No Serpa holsters allowed)
  • Tactical or Gun Belt
  • Dual Magazine Holder
  • Ear & Eye Protection
  • 300 Rounds of Ammunition (for both new training and renewal)
  • Targets

⚠️ Note: We do not provide handguns, gear, ammunition, targets, range fees, or lunch. These are the responsibility of the student or company.

PPCT (Pressure Point Control Tactics) Certification teaches safe and legal non-lethal self-defense for security professionals.

🧠 De-Escalation Training – $150

This Force Science-certified course focuses on managing and de-escalating hostile situations using communication and situational awareness.

📋 How to Get Licensed as a Security Guard in Denver

To become licensed, you must:

  1. Be at least 18 years old
  2. Pass a background check
  3. Complete our 16-hour Unarmed and 8-hour Armed training (if applicable)
  4. Pass all written and range qualifications
  5. Submit application, certificates, and fees to Denver Excise & Licensing
