1. What are the requirements to obtain a Colorado Concealed Handgun Permit?
To obtain a Colorado Concealed Handgun Permit (CHP), you must generally be at least 21 years old, legally eligible to possess a firearm, complete the required training with a Verified CHP Instructor, pass the written examination and live-fire qualification, and apply through the sheriff’s office or police department with jurisdiction where you reside.
2. How long is the Colorado concealed carry class?
Our Colorado Concealed Handgun Permit new applicant course is approximately 8 hours, while our renewal course is approximately 4.5 hours. Both courses meet or exceed Colorado’s current training requirements and include the required classroom instruction, written examination, and live-fire qualification.

7. What should I bring to class?
Students should bring a valid government-issued photo ID, an unloaded handgun in a case, at least three magazines or speed loaders (if applicable), 50–100 rounds of factory ammunition, eye and ear protection, lunch or snacks, water, note-taking materials, and a positive attitude.
