Course Overview
The NRA Basic Shotgun Course is an in-depth, practical training program that encompasses vital aspects of shotgun safety and marksmanship. Leveraging the deep experience and knowledge of our NRA certified instructors, both in the classroom and at the shooting range, ensures that participants receive unparalleled instruction quality.
Classroom Location: All classroom education will occur at CCCD location. Address: 2186 S Holly St Unit 07, Denver, Co 80222.
Range Location: All live firearms training will occur at Shoot Indoors Denver. (6th & I25)
Prerequisites: NRA First Steps or equivalent experience
Total Classroom Size: 6 Students

- Firearm Safety: The course starts with a comprehensive review of firearm safety principles. Participants will learn the essential rules of safe shotgun handling, including secure loading and unloading techniques, ammunition handling, and proper shotgun storage methods.

- Ammunition: Learn about the various shotgun ammunition types, their components, and how to choose the right ammunition for your shotgun. Emphasis will also be placed on safe ammunition handling practices.
- Fundamentals of Shooting: Our instructors will teach you the essential shooting techniques specific to shotguns, including stance, sight alignment, and trigger control, with hands-on practice opportunities under expert supervision.
- Marksmanship: Focus on applying fundamental shooting principles to achieve accurate and consistent shot placement. Personalized coaching from our instructors will aid in enhancing your marksmanship skills.
- Maintenance and Cleaning: Understanding how to properly maintain and clean your shotgun is crucial for its longevity and safety. The course will cover disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly of shotguns.
