Our NRA CCW Course is designed to provide individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to obtain their Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW) permit. This course is taught by our NRA certified instructors, ensuring you receive the highest quality instruction available.

Course Description:

The NRA CCW course teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary to carry a concealed pistol for personal defense. The NRA CCW Course is intended for all individuals regardless of previous shooting experience or NRA-affiliation. This instructor-led only course gives you direct instruction from an NRA-certified instructor from beginning to end and may be conducted in a classroom and on a shooting range with an Instructor. This takes place in a traditional classroom and range environment. This course may be completed in a single day format or over several days with smaller blocks of instruction.

Course Overview:

The NRA CCW Course is a comprehensive and hands-on program that covers essential topics related to concealed carry and personal protection. Our NRA certified instructors bring years of experience and expertise to the classroom and the firing range, ensuring that you receive the highest quality instruction.

Classroom Location: All classroom education will occur at CCCD location.
Address: 2186 S Holly St Unit 07, Denver, CO 80222.

Range Location: All live firearms training will occur at Shoot Indoors Denver. (6th & I25 or 39th & Monaco)

Prerequisites: NRA Basic Pistol Course or equivalent experience.

Total Classroom Size: 6 Students

Total Time: 1 to 16 Hours (Typically 8 Hours)

Course Content:

  • Firearm Safety: The course begins with an in-depth exploration of firearm safety principles. Students will learn about the fundamental rules of safe gun handling, including how to safely load and unload firearms, how to handle ammunition, and how to store handguns securely.
  • Pistol Nomenclature and Selecting a Pistol for Self-Defense: You will gain a thorough understanding of various types of handguns, their components, and how to select a suitable pistol for self-defense. Our instructors will guide you through the anatomy of a handgun, helping you become familiar with its different parts.
  • Basic Defensive Pistol Skills: Learn fundamental defensive shooting techniques, including grip, stance, sight alignment, and trigger control. You will practice these skills on the range under the guidance of our certified instructors.
  • Drawing from Concealment: Master the techniques for safely and efficiently drawing your pistol from concealment.
  • Loading and Stoppage Remediation: Understand how to load and unload your pistol, as well as how to handle and clear stoppages.
  • Mindset: Develop the proper mindset for carrying a concealed weapon and understanding the responsibilities involved.
  • Carry Modes and Pistol Concealment: Explore different carry modes and methods for effectively concealing your pistol.
  • Firearm Cleaning: Learn how to properly disassemble, clean, and reassemble your handgun to ensure its longevity and reliability.
  • Sport Shooting and Training Activities: Discover additional training activities and sport shooting opportunities to further enhance your skills.

Certification:

Upon successful completion of the NRA CCW Course, you will receive an NRA certificate. This certification is a testament to your commitment to responsible firearm ownership and safety. Students will receive reference books, take a NRA CCW Student Examination, and receive a course completion certificate bearing the signature of the NRA Secretary and your NRA Certified Instructor.

Requirements:

  • Personally owned handgun (Needs be a quality firearm and mid to full sized. No Hi-Points, Tiny Carry Guns, Saturday Might Specials and Etc.)
  • A Handgun Chambered in 9mm, .38Spl, .40S&W., .45ACP, .357SIG
  • 3 Magazines for the handgun
  • Gun Case
  • 250 rounds of ammo
  • Range fee of $24.00
  • Eye & Ear Protection
  • Outside the waist band Holster specially designed for owned handgun. (Can not be a universal holsters or poor quality)
  • Double Mag Carrier
  • Quality Belt

Please note that students are required to use high-quality, reliable gear during the NRA CCW Course. This includes avoiding the use of “junk” gear such as universal nylon holsters, SERPA holsters, non-brand name products from Amazon, substandard belts, or any low-quality equipment from Walmart or similar sources. Proper, dependable gear is essential for your safety and the effectiveness of the training.
