This is the official Armed Security Guard Training Course for the City and County of Denver. Whether you’re applying for your armed endorsement for the first time or renewing, this is the course Denver requires every year.

Our 10–12 hour course combines classroom instruction with live-fire range training to give you everything you need to perform your duties with skill, safety, and legal awareness.

Course Overview

  • Total Duration: 10–12 Hours
  • Classroom Time: 6 Hours
  • Range Time: 4 Hours
  • Prerequisite: Basic Pistol 101 or equivalent

Gear Requirements (Strictly Enforced):

  • Full-sized duty pistol chambered in 9mm, .40S&W, or .45ACP (no other calibers allowed)
  • 3 Magazines + Gun Case
  • Level 1 OWB or retention holster fitted for your firearm
  • Dual magazine carrier
  • Quality tactical/duty belt
  • 300 rounds of factory ammo (~$85)
  • Eye & electronic ear protection
  • $20 range fee
  • 2 qualification targets ($5)
